Chicago ban targets texting while driving

On Wednesday, the Chicago City Council passed a proposed ban on texting while driving. The final vote is scheduled for the Oct 8, city council meeting. If approved, the ordinance will take effect later this month.

The proposal was sponsored by Ald. Edward Burke who also raised the possibility of banning reading or applying eye-make-up while driving
