Chicago Department of Transportation Worker Killed

A Chicago Department of Transportation worker was struck and killed early Tuesday morning near the 3300 block of East 100th St.

The worker, a CDOT 10 year veteran, was unloading materials for a scheduled road project, when a car, swerving to avoid hitting another car, hit the worker.

According to police, the driver of the car was issued citations for negligence, striking a pedestrian in a roadway and damage to city property.
